Description
Eloira acts as a contraceptive by:
- Creating a barrier preventing sperm from entering the uterus
- Inhibiting movement and function of the sperm
- Thinning the lining of the uterus
Occasionally, the release of eggs may be inhibited during the early stages of use of Eloira. Because of the thinner lining of the uterus, there is less monthly bleeding. Eloira prevents fertilization (the fusion of sperm with an egg). It does not cause abortion.
