Virshields children's mask: it's finally here!
Our self-produced children's mask is a Class I medical device and consists of three layers. But why type I and not II/IIR?
We ultimately decided on Type I. The decision results from the fact that children are not advised to wear Type II or IIR. This is due to the density of the other variants (Type II/R). The tighter a mask is, the more airway resistance increases.
- The inner layer is a non-woven fabric designed to absorb moisture released by the user.
- The outer layer is hydrophobic to protect the user from splashes.
- The filter layer in the middle is the most important part of the medical face mask as it provides a barrier against germs.
Additionally, the mask includes an all-plastic noseband and ear loops to adjust the mask to the child's face. The pleated design allows the mask to be individually adjusted to the shape of your face. This mask is breathable, it reduces the risk of spreading infections, especially in epidemic or pandemic situations, and has been tested with a bacterial filtration rate (BFE) of 95%.
The product is intended for daily, short-term and one-time use in public.
